• Series of Awareness camps conducted under Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan

PULWAMA: In a continuous effort to curb the menace of drug addiction and spread awareness among the youth and local populace, a series of awareness camps were conducted today at various panchayats of the Pulwama district.

The camps brought together the officials from various departments including Health, Police, Education, Social and RDD. Additionally, representatives from women Self Help Groups (SHGs) were also present while general public, youth and students in large numbers also attended the camps.

The camps were focused at educating youth, raising awareness among parents, and sensitising the general public about the physical, psychological and social impacts of drug abuse. Special emphasis was laid on early intervention, community support and the availability of rehabilitation services.

During the session, the speakers called for collective responsibility and community engagement to eradicate this social evil.  A variety of IEC materials including pamphlets, booklets and posters were also distributed among participants to augment public awareness and reinforce the key messages of the campaign.
