REASI: The District Administration Reasi, under leadership of Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Malik and in collaboration with the District Employment and Counseling Centre today organized a one-day Potential Entrepreneurship Mela under the flagship Mission Yuva initiative.   The event aimed to promote self-employment and entrepreneurship among the youth of the district. Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Sukhdev Singh Samyal was the chief guest.

At outset, Assistant Director Employment Anni Vaid gave a brief overview of Mission Yuva, stating that the initiative is designed to promote entrepreneurship, facilitate access to government schemes and create sustainable livelihood opportunities for the unemployed youth. Stalls were set up by various departments and financial institutions to offer on-the-spot guidance on schemes related to entrepreneurship, skill development, self-employment opportunities and loan disbursement processes.

The ADDC inspected the stalls and interacted with officials to assess the dissemination of information regarding subsidy schemes and the registration and loan sanction status for aspiring entrepreneurs. The successful entrepreneurs from the district also shared their experiences and success stories, inspiring others to pursue self-employment ventures. In recognition of their achievements, awards were presented to the outstanding entrepreneurs.

The ADDC highlighted that Mission Yuva is a vital government initiative to empower young people at the grassroots level. He informed that ‘Yuva Doots’ have been deployed in every Panchayat and Municipal Ward to guide and assist the youth in availing the benefits of schemes. He also encouraged the participants to download the Mission Yuva App for detailed information and noted that once registered, applicants will be verified within 15 days.

The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation from potential entrepreneurs identified during the baseline survey of Mission YUVA, along with Yuva Doots and others. Chief Planning Officer Narinder Kumar, ACD Vijay Kumar, DIO Ujwal Sambyal, local youth, officials from different departments and bank representatives were present.
