HANDWARA: An awareness programme focusing on newly introduced criminal laws was held at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Handwara. The session was conducted under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police Handwara, Shri Fayaz Hussain Shah (JKPS), and saw enthusiastic participation from students and members of the local community.

The primary objective of the programme was to educate participants about significant changes in criminal law, their broader implications, and the importance of legal literacy in fostering a just and orderly society. In his address, ASP Handwara highlighted the vital role of law in upholding justice and societal harmony. He encouraged students and citizens alike to remain informed about their legal rights and duties.

An interactive session followed the presentation, during which attendees posed questions related to various legal matters. Officials provided clear and thoughtful responses, contributing to a deeper understanding among participants. The initiative was met with appreciation from the attendees, who lauded the police department’s efforts in promoting legal awareness and community engagement.

This awareness campaign underscores the ongoing commitment of law enforcement authorities to building an informed and responsible citizenry. Similar programs are expected to be organized in other educational institutions across the region to ensure broader public outreach.
