RAMBAN: To foster educational engagement and spread awareness about historical events among the youth, the Halemaidan Company Operating Base (COB) of the 12 Rashtriya Rifles today organized an insightful Quiz Competition at Upper Primary School Tantreypura Banihal. The event centered on the historic Indo-Pak Agra Summit, aiming to deepen students’ understanding of regional diplomacy and peace efforts.

The competition saw enthusiastic participation from students of different classes, who displayed remarkable knowledge and curiosity on the theme. Structured in multiple rounds, the quiz covered key facts, notable personalities, historical context, and the outcome of the Agra Summit held in July 2001. Officers and senior officials from the 12 RR were present to motivate the students, emphasizing the importance of understanding India’s diplomatic history and encouraging a spirit of critical thinking and national pride among young minds.

Speaking on the occasion, a senior Army officer stated, “Our aim is not just to ensure security, but also to contribute to the holistic development of the region’s youth. Events like these promote awareness, foster education, and build a bridge of trust and knowledge between the Army and the local community.” Prizes were awarded to the top-performing teams, while all participants received tokens of appreciation for their active and spirited involvement.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the Head of the Institution, who lauded the Indian Army’s continuous support and impactful role in community engagement and youth empowerment in the region. This initiative is part of the Indian Army’s ongoing Operation Sadbhavana, which aims to win hearts and minds through sustained educational and outreach programs.
