BARAMULLA: On the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, J&K Police in Baramulla organized a meaningful awareness and counseling programme at the Police Drug De-Addiction Centre, Baramulla. The event witnessed the participation of recovered patients and their family members, highlighting the importance of collective efforts in overcoming substance abuse.

During the programme, experts conducted an extensive awareness and counseling session focusing on drug abuse prevention, relapse prevention, and the indispensable role of families in supporting individuals throughout their recovery journey. Participants were sensitized about the harmful consequences of substance abuse, the significance of leading a drug-free life, and the need for sustained family and community support in combating the menace of narcotics. Recovered patients and their family members also shared their personal experiences and inspiring stories of recovery, encouraging others to remain committed to rehabilitation and reintegration into society. The interaction reinforced the message that addiction can be defeated through determination, professional support, and strong family involvement.

J&K Police reiterated its unwavering commitment to the Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan and appealed to the public to actively support the fight against drug abuse by spreading awareness, assisting those in need of treatment, and working collectively towards building a healthy, safe, and drug-free society.
