UDHAMPUR:  District Administration Udhampur, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai, today organized an awareness programme at Devika Ghat as part of the Information, Education & Communication campaign under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The programme was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh.

Addressing the participants, the ADC highlighted the pivotal role of parents in identifying early signs of drug abuse. He emphasised the importance of vigilant monitoring and timely intervention in preventing youth from falling prey to substance abuse.

He added that the District Administration is conducting a series of IEC campaigns at the panchayat level, in municipalities and across educational institutions, particularly targeting vulnerable age groups. These efforts aim to raise awareness at the grassroots level and ensure the effective rehabilitation of individuals affected by drug addiction.

The ADC encouraged students to actively participate in awareness initiatives and serve as ambassadors in spreading the anti-drug message among their peers, families, and communities. Resource persons from various departments threw light  on the social, economic and medical impacts of drug addiction.
