BHADERWAH: The School of Management Studies (SOMS), Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu, came alive with music, emotions, and memories during its Farewell-cum-Fresher celebration, “Bon Voyage Bash 2K25”, organized to bid an affectionate farewell to the outgoing students of BBA, B.Com, and MBA while extending a warm welcome to the new entrants.

The vibrant event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, signifying the triumph of knowledge over ignorance. Dr. Umesh Choudhary, Head of the Department, SOMS, along with faculty members, led the ceremony and set the tone for an evening filled with joy, gratitude, and celebration.

Rector Bhaderwah Campus Prof Rahul Gupta graced the occasion virtually as the Chief Guest. Addressing the students, he commended the School of Management Studies for nurturing a culture of academic excellence and holistic development.

“Such events mirror the vibrant spirit and progressive outlook of SOMS. Education is not just about academics—it’s about nurturing confidence, character, and community,” he remarked. He urged students to stay committed to continuous learning and adaptability in the face of changing industry dynamics.

In his inaugural address, Dr. Choudhary welcomed all students and faculty members from various departments. He extended heartfelt wishes to the outgoing batch, encouraging them to uphold the values, discipline, and managerial wisdom cultivated during their academic journey.

“Your success will reflect the strength of your foundation and the pride of your alma mater,” Dr. Choudhary said. He emphasized the importance of applying classroom learnings in real-world situations and announced key initiatives, including an upcoming industrial visit for MBA students and a series of online expert lectures to foster industry-readiness and personal growth. He also appreciated the students’ dedication in planning the event and acknowledged the constant support of Rector Bhaderwah Campus.  The event showcased a spectacular lineup of cultural performances, including soulful poetry recitations, group and solo dances, ramp walks, and musical renditions
