RAMBAN: As per the directions of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, and Director, Industries and Commerce, Jammu, Dr. Arun Manhas, the District Industries Centre (DIC), Ramban, organized awareness camps today at Block Development Offices in Khari and Ramsoo. The aim was to inform the public about various schemes implemented by the Industries and Commerce Department to encourage youth to become job providers rather than job seekers.

The events commenced with a welcome address, followed by a detailed presentation by officers from the DIC. Under the guidance of GM, DIC, Ravinder Anand, the Project Manager, Kuldeep Singh, highlighted the features and benefits of the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP). Participants were informed about the application procedures, benefits of enrollment with the DIC, and the financial assistance available for ventures in the manufacturing and service sectors.

Awareness about the PM Vishwakarma Scheme was also a key focus of the camps. The educated unemployed youth were motivated to explore self-employment opportunities through these schemes. Queries regarding the application process and portal registration were addressed on the spot.

The aspiring youth expressed keen interest in availing the benefits of the PMEGP and PM Vishwakarma schemes. The sessions concluded with a vote of thanks from the Project Manager, who expressed gratitude to the staff of the Rural Development Department and the public for their participation and support.
