RAMBAN: Continuing the public outreach initiative to address issues at people’s doorsteps and monitor restoration efforts post heavy rains, flash floods and landslides across the district, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan today conducted an extensive tour of different areas of Sub-Division Ramsoo. The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Additional SP Mujeeb-Ur-Rehman; ACR Shokat Hayat Mattoo; Tehsildar Ukhral and officers from PWD, PMGSY and other departments.

During the visit, the DC convened public grievance redressal camps at Neel Batoo, Pogal and adjoining areas, where a large number of residents highlighted issues related to damaged infrastructure, disruption of power and water supply and other essential services. Addressing the gatherings, the DC said the District Administration is working round-the-clock to restore road connectivity, essential services and supplies, standing firmly with affected communities to ensure swift relief.

The Deputy Commissioner directed departments to process relief cases on priority, restore essential supplies without delay and remain proactive in addressing public grievances. The DC also inspected damaged roads and critical infrastructure at Ukhral, Shalgari, Marnal Nallah, Pogal, Parindher, Neel Top and nearby villages to assess losses. He instructed departments to undertake protection works, ensure proper drainage and expedite restoration of electricity and water supply to facilitate smooth connectivity for the local population.

Interacting with residents enroute, the DC reiterated the administration’s commitment to extend every possible assistance to affected families. At Pogal and Neel Batoo, where he presided over public camps, locals raised developmental concerns and demanded restoration of basic facilities. The DC instructed officials to resolve all genuine grievances on priority and ensure that relief and essential services reach every affected household.

The Deputy Commissioner also assessed losses and damages besides interacting with locals at key sites, including Pogal Bus Stand, and closely monitored ongoing restoration works on roads and public utilities, directing officials to expedite repairs and ensure uninterrupted connectivity and accessibility.
