GANDERBAL: As part of the comprehensive security arrangements for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY-2026), a joint mock drill was conducted today at Engineering College Safapora by the Special Operations Group (SOG) Ganderbal, in close coordination with the Army and other Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).

The exercise was aimed at testing operational preparedness, strengthening inter-agency coordination, and enhancing the collective response to any security contingency. Various emergency response procedures and tactical interventions were rehearsed to ensure seamless coordination among all participating forces.

Police remains committed to maintain the highest standards of security and preparedness to ensure the safe, peaceful, and smooth conduct of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026.

Dr. Ranjan was a rare and noble soul—humble, compassionate, intellectually brilliant and always willing to help others. A visionary thinker, he believed in using knowledge and abilities to make a meaningful difference. His influence lives on through the people he guided, the work he inspired and the countless lives he touched.

For me, he will always be the elder brother who believed in me and guided me with affection. I will cherish his kindness and lessons forever. May his soul rest in eternal peace. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

A brilliant mind who studied at Netarhat Residential School and graduated in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur before earning his PhD from the University of Maryland, Dr. Ranjan chose to return to India and dedicate his life to teaching, research and social good.

His pioneering work in networked systems, AI, robotics and biomedical applications—especially computer-vision tools for early detection of cancer and heart disease—reflected his deep belief that advanced technology must serve humanity.

For more than 15 years at JK Monitor, he remained a loyal friend, mentor and collaborator, marked by rare humility, intellectual integrity and quiet generosity. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. Priya, you will be deeply missed. Your life continues to remind us that knowledge finds its highest purpose in the service of others.
