DODA: An Information, Education  and Communication campaign was conducted under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan here at Community Hall Doda and Dak Bungalow Thathri. The twin events were held under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh and the supervision of District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) Tariq Qazi to raise awareness about the dangers of substance abuse and the importance of community involvement in combating the menace of drugs.

A comprehensive training program was held for Panchayat-wise Resource Persons as part of the Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign against drug abuse. The initiative aimed to equip resource persons with the necessary knowledge and skills to spread awareness at the grassroots level and sensitize communities about the dangers of substance abuse.

The participants were trained on the causes, effects, and preventive measures related to drug addiction, along with strategies to engage youth, parents, and educators in the fight against this growing menace.

Emphasis was placed on early intervention, counseling support, and the role of self-help groups in rehabilitation. The administration reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a drug-free society by strengthening awareness programs, enforcing strict measures against drug peddling, and encouraging community participation in the fight against substance abuse.

A large gathering of students, youth, community members, and officials from various departments participated in the campaign. The event featured interactive sessions, motivational talks, and awareness skits emphasizing the harmful effects of drug addiction. Health professionals and social welfare experts also addressed the audience, discussing the psychological, social, and legal consequences of substance abuse.

District Social Welfare Officer Tariq Qazi provided insights into government initiatives under the Nasha Mukt Bharat program and stressed the importance of early intervention and rehabilitation support. He highlighted the role of collective action in combating drug addiction and encouraged community members to actively participate in awareness drives.

The event concluded with participants taking a pledge to contribute towards a drug-free society. The District Administration reaffirmed its commitment to conducting regular awareness drives, strengthening community participation, and ensuring strict action against drug trafficking. Through continued collective efforts, the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in Doda and Thathri aims to foster a healthier and drug-free community.
