JAMMU: A unique and heartwarming showcase of Dogri animated poetry was organized at My Chhota School Nagrota, where renowned writer, poet, and digital creator Heena Mahajan presented her self-written Dogri animated rhymes before the young students of the school. The initiative marked one of the first creative efforts of its kind, where traditional Dogri poetry was brought to life through animation to connect children with their mother tongue in an engaging and modern way.

The event was warmly welcomed and supported by the Director Mr. Vishal Sharma and Principal Mrs. Shivani Sharma, whose vision and dedication towards preserving regional culture and language among children received immense appreciation. Their initiative reflects the spirit of the National Education Policy (NEP), which emphasizes the importance of regional languages and mother tongues in early education.

The animated Dogri poems captivated the tiny audience, filling the atmosphere with joy, curiosity, and cultural pride. The school management was applauded for taking such progressive steps to nurture young minds with the richness of Dogri language and heritage at an early age.

On the special occasion, Mother’s Day was also celebrated beautifully with the presentation of the newly introduced animated Dogri poem “Maa,” written by Heena Mahajan. The emotional poem highlighted the unconditional love and warmth of a mother and deeply touched everyone present during the event.

Adding further grace to the celebration, Mrs. Reeta Gupta, mother of Heena Mahajan, was felicitated by the school as a mark of respect and appreciation on Mother’s Day. The event concluded with a strong message that preserving language and culture through creative digital mediums can inspire the younger generation to stay connected with their roots while embracing modern learning methods.
