JAMMU: In a significant step towards strengthening safety measures for field personnel, the Managing Director, Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) Gurpal Singh today flagged off vehicles carrying essential safety equipment for distribution among the field staff of 18 Divisions of JPDCL (06 Sub-Transmission Divisions and 12 Electric Divisions).

The vehicles were flagged off in the presence of Chief Engineer (Distribution) Er. Arshad Hussain Reshi; Chief Engineer (Planning & Procurement) Er. Vijay Kumar Balmotra and Technical Officer to Managing Director JPDCL Er. Anil Verma.

The initiative aims to equip field personnel engaged in electrical maintenance, fault restoration and other operational activities with the requisite safety gear and equipment for carrying out their duties safely and efficiently and minimise the accidents during the maintenance activities.

Speaking on the occasion, the Managing Director emphasized that the safety of employees working in the field remains a top priority of JPDCL. He stressed upon all concerned officers and field functionaries to ensure strict compliance with prescribed safety procedures and make optimum use of the safety equipment viz, Harness/Safety Belt and Safety Gloves provided to them.

The Managing Director further directed the concerned officers to ensure that the safety equipment reaches the field staff in a timely manner and that its availability and proper usage are regularly monitored at all levels.

The flagging-off of the vehicles marks another important initiative by JPDCL towards creating a safer working environment for its field personnel and reinforcing a culture of safety across the Corporation.
