TRAL: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested three persons in Tral, Awantipora and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A police party during naka checking intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK03B-8646, with three persons on board. During search, 03 grams of heroin-like substance and 13.94 grams of cannabis-like substance were recovered from their possession.

They have been identified as Sujad Saleem son of Bashir Ahmad Turabi resident of Diver, Feroz Ahmad Chopan so of Mushtaq Ahmad Chopan resident of Laruw Jageer, and Mohd. Shafi Mir son of Abdul Aziz Mir resident of Aripal. Subsequently, they were arrested on the spot, besides vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 102/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Tral, and investigation has been set into motion. Police reiterates its commitment to combating the menace of drug abuse and taking strict legal action against those involved in drug related activities.
