BARAMULLA: As part of ongoing efforts to enforce the ban on single-use plastic and polythene, Police Station Boniyar, in collaboration with the Tehsildar Boniyar, BDO Boniyar and BMO Boniyar, conducted a joint inspection drive at Boniyar Main Market today.
During the drive, 4 kg of polythene was seized, while 7 challans amounting to ā¹650 were issued against violators for non-compliance with the prescribed norms. The team also observed encouraging changes in the use of plastic alternatives among shopkeepers and the public.
These positive practices reflect growing awareness and cooperation towards reducing plastic use and maintaining a cleaner and more environmentally friendly environment. Police remains committed to coordinated enforcement measures and promoting responsible public participation for a cleaner and healthier environment.
