ANANTNAG: In its continued drive against absconders, Police in Anantnag along with Rajasthan Police has arrested an absconder who was evading arrest since 2009. A police party of Police Station Mattan apprehended one absconder namely Shabir Ahmad Khan son of Mohd. Shahbaz Khan resident of Nai Basti, Khanabal near Showkat Gas Agency, presently residing at Gopalpora Mattan.

He was wanted in case FIR No. 09/2009 of GRP Abu Road, District Sirohi, Rajasthan under NDPS Act for dealing in 4.5 Kg of Charas, which was to be delivered at Ahmedabad. The Hon'ble NDPS Court, District Sirohi, Rajasthan had issued arrest warrant against him and he was absconding since 2009.

After strenuous efforts and developing specific information, the absconder was apprehended from Gopalpora Mattan. He has been taken into custody and concerned police authorities have been informed for further legal action. J&K Police reaffirms its commitment to track and bring to justice all absconders evading law.
