REASI: District Development Commissioner Reasi Kumar Abhishek today chaired a meeting to review the progress and implementation of the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) in the district.
The meeting focused on assessing the progress achieved under the scheme, including registration of establishments and candidates, engagement of apprentices, availability of apprenticeship opportunities and participation of eligible youth.
The DDC directed the concerned departments to expedite the registration of eligible establishments and candidates on the NAPS portal and ensure achievement of the assigned targets within the stipulated timeline. He emphasised intensified mobilisation, awareness and registration drives to facilitate greater participation of establishments and eligible youth in the apprenticeship programme.
The General Manager District Industries Centre was directed to ensure registration of all eligible industrial units on the portal. The Labour Department and Tourism Department were directed to facilitate registration of eligible hotels having a minimum strength of four employees.
The DDC further directed all educational institutions to ensure timely registration of eligible establishments and students and maintain regular monitoring of progress. The concerned departments were asked to furnish periodic updates to the designated authorities to ensure effective implementation and timely achievement of targets under NAPS.
