In loving memory of Dr. Priya Ranjan: A mentor who treated me like family

KULGAM: The Drug Control Department Kulgam today conducted multiple inspections of chemist shops in the vicinity of Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Yaripora under the aegis of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA).

During the inspections, the officials checked and verified records of scheduled drugs on the spot and examined the computerized billing systems adopted by the chemists. CCTV footage was also checked to ensure compliance with the prescribed regulations.

During the drive, the operation of one sales establishment was closed down for non-compliance with certain conditions of its licence. The chemists were sensitized about the importance of strictly dispensing drugs with addiction liability only against valid prescriptions issued by Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs). They were also directed to ensure that every sale of medicine is supported by a proper cash memo.

The Drug Control Department reiterated that any violation of statutory requirements will invite strict regulatory action. The department further stated that such enforcement drives will continue across the district to ensure compliance with drug regulations.
