RAMBAN: In line with the nationwide initiative, the School Education Department today launched Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 in all schools across Ramban district.  The fortnight-long campaign, starting from today, will continue till September 30, 2025.

The objective of Swachhata Pakhwada-2025 is to promote among children a culture of cleanliness, hygiene and a sense of responsibility towards the environment. The district-wide programme commenced with a Swachhata Pledge, administered simultaneously across the schools.

The inaugural day witnessed enthusiastic participation from 800 schools, with more than 47,630 students and 3,000 teachers actively taking part in the inaugural event.  The activities chalked out for the campaign  include cleanliness drives in and around school premises, promoting hand-washing and hygiene awareness among students and community members, besides hosting painting, essay and quiz competitions on the theme of cleanliness and waste management.

The campaign also envisages Community participation to encourage active participation of parents, panchayats and other stakeholders in maintaining hygiene and sanitation standards. Meanwhile, the Chief Education Officer has appealed to all educational institutions to organise innovative activities during the fortnight to make the campaign more impactful and result orientated.
