  • DC pushes for maximum involvement of youth

REASI: Deputy Commissioner Reasi Nidhi Malik today chaired a meeting of officers from across line departments to review the arrangements for the upcoming Sewa Parv, a nationwide initiative scheduled to be observed from September 17 to October 2, 2025.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of organizing meaningful and impactful activities across the district to mark the occasion. She directed all departments to prepare detailed action plans and ensure proper documentation of pre- and post-event activities to effectively assess the outcomes of the 15-day programme.

Stress was laid on hosting awareness camps on flagship government schemes, including PM-Kisan and Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY). She also instructed departments to conduct financial literacy camps to educate citizens about welfare schemes, banking facilities and credit linkages.

Special focus will be laid on spreading awareness under the Nasha Mukt J&K campaign, along with disaster management awareness programmes in schools, colleges and for the general public. The DC further emphasized the renovation of Amrit Sarovars and undertaking plantation drives around them as part of the activities.

Highlighting the role of youth in Sewa Parv, she directed the School Education Department to organize activities such as school beautification drives and donation campaigns for books, stationery and clothes for underprivileged students.

The Social Welfare Department was tasked with reaching out to vulnerable sections of society by visiting children’s homes, interacting with the elderly and providing meals to the needy. To strengthen healthcare initiatives, the Health Department was asked to organize health check-up camps in collaboration with the Ayush Department, along with blood donation drives across all blocks of the district.

In addition, cultural programmes, painting and essay competitions, and social media campaigns will be organized to ensure wider public participation. The meeting was attended by ADDC Sukhdev Singh Samyal, ADC Rakesh Kumar, CPO Narinder Kumar, PO POSHAN, DFO and other concerned officers.
