JAMMU: A district-level familiarisation exercise and awareness program on emergency response, including a school safety program, was conducted today at the Govt. High Secondary School Bhour Camp. The event was attended by Tehsildar Arti Bhardwaj, teachers, and other stakeholders.

The ongoing familiarisation exercise includes drills on various critical life-saving skills, such as extrication of trapped victims, first aid and treatment of soft tissue injuries. Other drills included firefighting, use of fire extinguishers, FBAO, oxygen therapy, BLS and CPR, evacuation from collapsed buildings during earthquakes, floods, fires, landslides and avalanches and preparation of improvised floating devices.

The program was organised by a team from 'A' Coy 13th Bn NDRF, under the supervision of Deputy Commandant Uttam Singh, in coordination with the District Administration. Similar drives are being conducted across different Tehsils of the district.  This initiative aims to educate the public on emergency preparedness and response, ensuring the public is better equipped to handle disaster situations.
