BANDIPORA: As part of the nationwide "Catch the Rain" campaign, the Municipal Council (MC) Bandipora today organized a public awareness rally in the Main Market, Bandipora, to promote the importance of rainwater harvesting and water conservation.

The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from Municipal Council officials, sanitation staff, volunteers, and local residents. Participants carried placards and raised slogans highlighting the need to conserve every drop of water and adopt sustainable water management practices.

The awareness drive aimed to educate the public about the significance of rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge, and the collective responsibility of protecting water resources for future generations. During the rally, citizens and shopkeepers were encouraged to adopt simple yet effective water conservation measures in their homes and business establishments.

Speaking on the occasion, officials of the Municipal Council emphasized that water conservation is a shared responsibility and urged the public to actively support the "Catch the Rain" initiative by harvesting rainwater and avoiding the wastage of this precious natural resource.

The rally concluded with a pledge by participants to contribute towards building a water-secure and environmentally sustainable Bandipora through responsible water conservation practices.
