KUPWARA: In a major operation aimed at retrieving encroached government land, the Revenue Team of Tehsil Handwara today successfully conducted an eviction drive at Bagathpora, Handwara. The drive was carried out under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara and under the close supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Handwara.

During the operation, 10 kanals of prime Kahcharai (grazing) land were retrieved from illegal encroachment, thereby resolving a long-standing possession dispute involving several families.

The eviction drive was conducted peacefully, with the Revenue Team receiving full support and assistance from the Municipal Committee Handwara and Police Handwara. The coordinated efforts of all agencies involved ensured the smooth and successful execution of the operation.

The administration reiterated its commitment to safeguarding government and Kahcharai land from encroachment and assured that such drives shall continue against illegal occupation of state land across the district.
