KULGAM: District Administration Kulgam today conducted a comprehensive mock drill at the DPL Kulgam to assess preparedness and response mechanisms in case of emergencies and natural disasters. The drill was carried out with the active participation of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) along with Police, Health, Fire & Emergency Services, Civil Defence and other concerned departments.

During the exercise, a simulated emergency scenario was created to test coordination among different response agencies. Rescue teams demonstrated evacuation procedures, search and rescue operations, first aid response and transportation of injured persons to medical facilities. Officials said the mock drill aimed to evaluate the readiness of departments, improve coordination among agencies and enhance the capacity of responders to handle real-life disaster situations effectively.

The exercise also highlighted the importance of timely response, communication and public safety measures during emergencies. Officers emphasized that such drills are essential to strengthen disaster management systems and ensure swift action in times of crisis. Participants were briefed about safety protocols and emergency response procedures to minimize risks and protect lives and property during disasters.
