BANDIPORA: In a proactive move to enhance disaster preparedness and response mechanisms, the District Administration Bandipora on Tuesday conducted a comprehensive mock drill at the Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat, with active involvement of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).

The drill was held in the presence of senior district officers, including Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Shabir Ahmad Wani, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Bashir Ahmad Paddar, and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Headquarters Bandipora, Ahmad Shafee, besides officers and officials from various line departments.

The exercise witnessed active participation from Police, Health, Fire & Emergency Services, Civil Defence, and SDRF teams, demonstrating a well-coordinated multi-agency response framework.

During the drill, an emergency scenario was simulated to assess preparedness levels, response time, and inter-departmental coordination. Key response components, including rescue operations, evacuation procedures, fire safety measures, and first aid, were effectively demonstrated.

Speaking on the occasion, officials underscored the significance of such mock drills in strengthening institutional readiness and ensuring swift, coordinated response during real-life emergencies. They highlighted that regular exercises help identify gaps and enhance synergy among stakeholders.
