REASI: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Reasi, Nidhi Malik today chaired a meeting to take a comprehensive review of progress achieved under the District Capex Budget 2025–26 across different sectors and schemes.

The meeting featured a detailed discussion on the physical and financial progress of District Capex works, along with updates on tendering and allotment status, CDF and MPLADS works and the Tribal UT Capex schemes.

DDC Nidhi Malik directed for prompt dissemination of the list of sanction works to the Block Development Officers (BDOs) and instructed the Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) to ensure strict compliance. She also asked the Executive Engineer (XEN) RDD to initiate action against officials failing to submit sanctions within the stipulated time.

Taking serious note of pendency, the DDC emphasized to take strict action against contractors delaying execution of works. She asked to reassign these works to other contractors.

While reviewing development projects across the district, the DDC instructed departments to expedite slow-moving works and ensure regular reporting on their progress.

Emphasizing community welfare, she directed concerned officers to ensure that the toilets constructed under government schemes remain functional. The meeting also reviewed the physical and financial progress of Tribal UT Capex and PMAAGY works, with the DDC stressing the need for timely tendering and allotment to ensure speedy completion. She directed to prioritize public utility structures to maximize community benefit.

Additionally, the DDC instructed BDOs to obtain written communication from the XEN RDD regarding any works for which information has not been shared, thereby ensuring accountability and clarity in execution. Among those present were ADDC Sukhdev Singh Samyal, CPO Narinder Kumar, ACD Vijay Kumar, CMO, CEO, XENs PWD and PMGSY, BDOs and other senior officers.
