SRINAGAR: In a continued push towards improving urban air quality, Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Faz Lul Haseeb chaired a comprehensive review meeting today at SMC headquarters, Karan Nagar to assess progress under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP). The session involved a detailed evaluation of the initiatives undertaken during 2025–26 to mitigate air pollution in the city.

Commissioner acknowledged the progress made so far, applauding the departments for their efforts, while also drawing attention to areas that demand focused and accelerated action. “Clean air is not just an environmental imperative, it’s a fundamental public health priority,” the Commissioner emphasized. “It is our collective duty to implement these initiatives with efficiency and purpose, so that the people of Srinagar can breathe cleaner, healthier air. Stressing transparency and accountability, Commissioner directed officials to maintain a collaborative and result-oriented approach in achieving NCAP goals.
