The Nukkad Natak performers were the students from the Department of Environmental Sciences along with NSS volunteers and Students for Development (SFD). This campaign is a part of the larger initiative aimed at promoting cleanliness and instilling values of sanitation and environmental responsibility. The theme for this year, Swabhav Swachhata, Sanskaar Swachhata, emphasizes the importance of making cleanliness a part of our nature and values.

Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, and Prof. Yashwant Singh, Registrar, Central University of Jammu conveyed their heartfelt congratulations for the event. The event was organized under the supervision of Prof. Richa Kothari, Nodal Officer, Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 Campaign. The Nukkad Natak, "Burey Karmo ka Bura Nateeja", aimed to raise awareness about the harmful consequences of environmental degradation, improper waste management, and pollution.

Through this, the performers sought to convey the message that unethical and careless behaviour towards the environment leads to dire outcomes, not only for the present generation but also for the future. The performers from the Department of Environmental Sciences used a mix of humour, satire, and emotional appeal to keep the audience engaged. Their powerful dialogues and expressive performances left a lasting impression on the crowd, ensuring the message of Swachhata reached every individual present.

The Nukkad Natak was performed in an open space within the university premises, attracting not only students but also faculty members. Throughout the performance, the importance of adopting sustainable practices such as waste segregation, reduction in the use of single-use plastic and promoting tree plantation was emphasized. The performers urged the audience to be mindful of their actions and make cleanliness a part of their daily routine.
