KATRA/RAJOURI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu & Kashmir, commemorated the World Environment Day under the series of programmes to be observed in connection with the “Modi Sarkar Ke 11 Saal – Sankalp Se Sidhi Tak”. J&K BJP President Sat Sharma, LoP J&K Assembly Sunil Sharma, MP (Lok Sabha) Jugal Kishore Sharma, General Secretary & MLA Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, and District President Rohit Dubey planted a sapling at Katra on the occasion of World Environment Day.

Sat Sharma, while planting the sapling, said that the senior BJP leadership along with the party cadre has today planted seeds and saplings across Jammu & Kashmir. He said the motive is to increase greenery and adopt nature-friendly practices to support sustainable environmental measures being taken by the Modi government. He also highlighted other focus areas such as cleanliness drives near ponds, wells and water resources, rainwater harvesting, and arranging water for birds during the summer season.

Sunil Sharma said that celebrating World Environment Day through plantation and cleanliness drives reflects the BJP’s commitment to environmental conservation. He emphasized that the Modi government has given top priority to green policies, water conservation, and renewable energy, and that party workers must act as ambassadors of these initiatives. He also urged the public to treat environmental protection as a daily responsibility rather than a one-day event.

Jugal Kishore Sharma expressed that the environmental movement must become a people’s movement. He said that the Modi government has implemented historic projects like the Jal Jeevan Mission and Amrit Sarovar to ensure water security. He encouraged citizens to plant at least one tree every year and support conservation efforts by engaging in local water resource revival and protection activities.

Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal underlined that the essence of “Sankalp Se Siddhi” lies in translating intentions into impactful actions. He appealed to the youth and local communities to come forward and take active part in such initiatives and strengthen Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a clean and green India. Adv. Vibodh Gupta, General Secretary, J&K BJP planted a sapling at Shiv Mandir, Dalogra, Rajouri.
