KUPWARA: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Handwara, Javed Naseem Masoodi, today conducted an extensive inspection of key roads across the Handwara Sub-Division to review ongoing snow clearance operations and ensure smooth movement of traffic amid prevailing winter conditions.

During the inspection, the ADC assessed the deployment of men and machinery, interacted with field staff, and issued on-the-spot directions to expedite clearance work on vital routes connecting habitations, hospitals, and other essential service points. Emphasis was laid on maintaining round-the-clock operations to minimize inconvenience to the general public.

The ADC informed that all major roads across the Sub-Division have been cleared and are traffic-worthy, while snow clearance work on interior and link roads is being taken up on priority. He stressed the importance of coordinated efforts among all concerned departments and instructed officers to remain vigilant, particularly in vulnerable areas prone to heavy snowfall and road blockages.

The ADC further assured that adequate food and essential commodity stocks are available in the Sub-Division, and there is no cause for concern. Officials were directed to prioritize the clearance of emergency routes and ensure public safety at all times. The inspection aimed to assess ground realities and reaffirm the Sub-Divisional Administration’s commitment to restoring normalcy at the earliest.

Further, the ADC also inspected hospitals and various government offices within Sub-Division Handwara. The ADC was accompanied by Executive Engineer, R&B Division Handwara, Farooq Ahmad Shah and other concerned officials.
