• 20-year-old entrepreneur Vanshika Mittal builds ₹5.28 crore gifting brand while pursuing an online BBA at LPU ~

JAMMU: Reinforcing the growing success of the ‘Earn While You Learn’ approach in higher education, Vanshika Mittal, a student of Lovely Professional University’s UGC-entitled Online BBA programme, secured a ₹1 crore investment on Shark Tank India Campus Special’s season 5 at a ₹12 crore valuation while successfully building and scaling her business alongside her studies.

At just 20 years old, Vanshika transformed a ₹1,000 idea into a thriving crochet-based gifting brand specializing in handcrafted flower bouquets. Her venture has now grown into a ₹5.28 crore revenue enterprise while simultaneously generating livelihood opportunities for hundreds of women artisans working from home.

Her achievement strongly reflects how students today are embracing the ‘Earn While You Learn’ model by combining academic learning with real-world entrepreneurial experience, supported by a flexible and innovation-driven university ecosystem.

During her pitch on Shark Tank India 5 Campus Special, Vanshika impressed the Sharks with her strong business fundamentals and clear understanding of scale and sustainability. She secured a two-shark deal worth ₹1 crore for 8 per cent equity from Pratham Mittal, Founder of Tetr College of Business and Master’s Union, and Mohit Yadav, Co-Founder of Minimalist. The deal not only brought funding but also strategic mentorship to strengthen the brand’s future growth trajectory.

Addressing students, Vanshika shared that entrepreneurial journeys are rarely linear and encouraged them to explore their passions while remaining open to experimentation, failure, and learning. She emphasised that building meaningful connections and actively engaging with opportunities are crucial in shaping success.

Sharing insights from her Shark Tank India journey, Vanshika highlighted the importance of clarity in financials and decision-making. She noted that entrepreneurs must be precise about the investment they seek and have a clear roadmap for utilizing funds effectively. Stressing the importance of persistence, she said that success often comes after multiple attempts and continuous learning. She also emphasised the role of marketing as a core business skill and acknowledged the value of mentorship from industry leaders in strengthening brand strategy and direction.

Congratulating Vanshika on her achievement, Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Hon'ble Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of LPU, stated, “Such achievements reflect the ability of young minds to identify opportunities and translate vision into successful enterprises. LPU remains committed to supporting aspiring entrepreneurs through mentorship, scholarships, seed funding, and an ecosystem that nurtures innovation and entrepreneurial thinking.”

Dr. Col. Rashmi Mittal, Worthy Pro-Chancellor of LPU, also congratulated Vanshika and highlighted how LPU’s student-centric policies empower learners to pursue entrepreneurial ambitions alongside academics.

Under LPU’s Edurevolution initiative, students are provided academic flexibility, including relaxation in attendance and academic credits, enabling them to actively pursue entrepreneurial ventures without academic constraints. The university also offers dedicated scholarships under its Innovation, Startup, and Entrepreneurship initiative, where students demonstrating exceptional entrepreneurial achievements, such as generating significant revenue, securing grants, or attracting private investments, are eligible for scholarships of up to 100 per cent of the programme fee.

Admissions are currently open for aspiring innovators and entrepreneurs seeking to become part of LPU’s thriving startup ecosystem.
