YOL (HIMACHAL PRADESH): The spiritually vibrant atmosphere at Ved Mandir, Yol (Himachal Pradesh), continued to inspire devotees and seekers as the 78-day Yajna Anushthan of the four Vedas entered its 41st day today. On the occasion, renowned Vedic scholar and Yogacharya Swami Ram Swarup Ji delivered an in-depth discourse on Yajurveda Mantra 1/1, explaining its profound relevance in human life and social welfare.

Addressing the gathering of disciples, devotees and inquisitive listeners, Swami Ji said that every individual desirous of attaining the highest results from righteous actions must remain connected to God through Yajna, prayer and Vedic knowledge. He explained that the mantra teaches humanity to dedicate all senses, thoughts, inner consciousness and life energies towards the performance of noble deeds as prescribed in the Vedas.

Swami Ji emphasized that the Almighty, being the creator and sustainer of the universe, is the ultimate source of happiness, peace and prosperity. Therefore, human beings should pray that their entire life remains devoted to the performance of supreme Yajna karma and virtuous conduct. He remarked that the Vedas do not merely advocate rituals, but guide mankind towards disciplined living, selfless service, purity of thought and universal welfare.

Explaining the deeper meaning of the mantra, Swami Ji stated that all four Vedas describe Yajna as the most beneficial and welfare-oriented action for every living being. He noted that Yajna creates an atmosphere of positivity, harmony and spiritual awakening while simultaneously inspiring individuals to work for collective well-being.

He further said that the mantra contains a sincere prayer before God for food, noble aspirations, energy, wealth, wisdom and spiritual strength. According to Swami Ji, true prosperity is not limited to material possessions alone but includes purity of mind, good health, righteous conduct and knowledge rooted in truth.

Highlighting the social message embedded in the mantra, Swami Ji explained that the prayer seeks a healthy, disease-free and virtuous society where people live peacefully without violence, hatred or exploitation. He added that the Vedic prayer also seeks protection for cows and other innocent animals, symbolising compassion and preservation of moral values in society.

Swami Ji stressed that the mantra prays for the eradication of sinful tendencies, theft and wickedness from society so that social harmony and justice may prevail. He said that the Vedic philosophy always advocates the protection of the weak, respect for learned people and safeguarding of animals and natural resources.

Calling Yajurveda Mantra 1/1 a ā€œdivine ready-made prayer bestowed by God Himself,ā€ Swami Ram Swarup Ji stated that the Vedas provide clear guidance for attaining happiness and peace in life. He said that God has instructed mankind to approach learned Acharyas for acquiring Vedic knowledge and to participate in Yajna with devotion and understanding for the welfare of all humanity. The discourse concluded with devotees offering oblations in the sacred fire amid the chanting of Vedic mantras, creating a deeply spiritual and devotional environment at the Ved Mandir premises.
