KISHTWAR: In a landmark achievement for the healthcare sector, MLA Kishtwar Shagun Parihar today inaugurated and dedicated a state-of-the-art 1.5 Tesla MRI Facility at District Hospital Kishtwar, marking a historic milestone in the district's healthcare journey.

With the commissioning of this advanced diagnostic facility, Kishtwar has become the first district in Jammu & Kashmir to have an MRI machine installed and operational at the district hospital level, significantly enhancing access to specialized healthcare services for the people of the region.

MRI facility has been established through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding provided by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, reflecting the Government's commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure in remote areas.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Shagun Parihar termed the inauguration of the MRI facility a historic and transformative development for Kishtwar. She expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Power, Government of India and Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) for extending CSR support to the project, which has fulfilled a long-pending demand of the people of the district.

She stated that the installation of the MRI machine would greatly benefit patients by providing advanced diagnostic services within the district, eliminating the need for frequent referrals to Jammu and other cities for MRI examinations. She further said that MRI facility will ensure timely diagnosis, reduce the financial burden on patientsand improve access to quality healthcare for thousands of people, particularly those living in far-flung and remote areas.

Reaffirming her commitment to the welfare of the people, Shagun Parihar said that continuous efforts are being made to upgrade healthcare infrastructure and bring modern medical facilities to Kishtwar so that residents can access quality healthcare services closer to their homes.

The inauguration was widely welcomed by local residents, who hailed the initiative as a transformative development for healthcare delivery in the region. Senior officials of the Health Department, medical professionals and prominent citizens remain present on this occasion.
