UDHAMPUR: In an effort to provide governance at the doorstep and ensure a robust grievance redressal mechanism at every level, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, conducted a public outreach cum grievance redressal camp at Sub Centre Khogarmarh of Block Parlidhar.

Additional District Development Commissioner, Rajinder Singh; DDC Member Ramnagar-1, Mool Raj; SDM Ramnagar, Rafiq Ahmad Jaral; former BDC Neelam Devi; other senior officers; former PRI members; and the general public from adjoining areas attended the camp.

During the camp, former PRI members and the general public from adjoining panchayats raised numerous issues and demands. These included unscheduled power cuts, maintenance and blacktopping of roads, upgrading High School Bainsta to Higher Secondary Level, addressing staff shortages in educational, health, PHE, and PDD sectors, resolving low voltage issues, alleviating the scarcity of drinking water, constructing a footbridge over Nallah Salain, constructing a new road from Thanda Pani to Salain, repairing the road from Dhannu to Rang, and providing computers to High School Blandh.

The DC attentively listened to all the public's demands and assured them that all genuine issues and demands would be addressed priority. She stressed the importance of closely monitoring ongoing works to ensure quality and adherence to timelines.

Necessary instructions were issued on the spot to the officers of the concerned departments for the completion of ongoing works within the stipulated time frame, ensuring no compromise on quality and leaving no scope for complaints.

The DC directed all officers to work in coordination for the effective implementation of government schemes on the ground. Experts from different departments educated the public about various government schemes and encouraged them to avail themselves of the benefits.

Later, the DC distributed 20 school bags and wristwatches to students under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme. The DC also planted various types of plants on the premises of the health centre.

We at JK Monitor are profoundly saddened by the sudden demise of our Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan.IN LOVING MEMORY Dr Priya Ranjan

A brilliant mind who studied at Netarhat Residential School and graduated in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur before earning his PhD from the University of Maryland, Dr. Ranjan chose to return to India and dedicate his life to teaching, research and social good.

His pioneering work in networked systems, AI, robotics and biomedical applications—especially computer-vision tools for early detection of cancer and heart disease—reflected his deep belief that advanced technology must serve humanity.

For more than 15 years at JK Monitor, he remained a loyal friend, mentor and collaborator, marked by rare humility, intellectual integrity and quiet generosity.
