JAMMU: J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma said that Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Diwas is not merely a remembrance of one of the darkest chapters in India's history, but a solemn national resolve to ensure that the horrors of Partition, born out of divisive politics and appeasement, are never allowed to recur.

Sat Sharma was addressing programmes organized on the occasion and later led Moun Yatras (Silent Processions) at Kachi Chawni and Trikuta Nagar to pay homage to the countless innocent men, women, and children who lost their lives or were uprooted during the Partition of 1947.

MP Jugal Kishore Sharma also addressed the Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Diwas programme held at the BJP Headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, and participated in the Moun Yatra organized there. An exhibition depicting the horrors of the partition was also displayed at Kachi Chawni.

J&K BJP Vice-Presidents Priya Sethi, Rajiv Charak, and Rekha Mahajan, General Secretaries Sanjita Dogra and Gopal Mahajan, MLAs Vikram Randhawa, Yudhvir Sethi, and Arvind Gupta, Secretaries Reema Padha, and Arun Sharma, All Cells Incharge Ved Sharma, Aun Prabhat, Ayodhya Gupta, Parduman Singh, Adv. Rajesh Gupta, Naresh Singh, and other senior party leaders were present during the programmes.

Sat Sharma, addressing on the occasion, said that the Partition was not just the division of land but the division of millions of families, dreams, and lives. He said generations continue to carry the scars of forced displacement, brutal massacres, and unimaginable suffering inflicted upon innocent people due to the politics of communal appeasement and national compromise.

"The younger generation must know the truth about Partition so that no force can ever again mislead the nation in the name of separatism, appeasement, or divisive politics," Sat Sharma said.

Sat Sharma said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, observing Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Diwas has become a national movement to preserve historical truth, honour the victims, and inspire future generations to safeguard the unity and integrity of India.

Speaking on the occasion, Jugal Kishore Sharma said that the pain of Partition cannot be measured merely in statistics, as every displaced family carries a story of sacrifice, loss, and resilience. He said the nation owes an eternal debt to those who rebuilt their lives with courage despite losing everything.

"The nation must remain vigilant against every ideology that promotes hatred, separatism, or weakens India's unity. History teaches us that when narrow political interests are placed above national interest, ordinary citizens pay the heaviest price," Jugal Kishore Sharma said.

The leaders observed silence during the Moun Yatras and paid heartfelt tributes to the victims of Partition, reaffirming their collective commitment to preserving the unity, sovereignty, and integrity of India while ensuring that the tragic lessons of 1947 continue to guide the nation towards lasting peace, harmony, and national integration.
