SRINAGAR: Social Welfare Department (SWD), SANKALP-HEW Srinagar, organized an awareness programme at Illahi Bagh, Srinagar, to sensitise the local community about various social security schemes and welfare initiatives being implemented for the benefit of eligible beneficiaries.

During the programme, detailed information was provided regarding marriage assistance, prosthetic aid and other social security schemes, with emphasis on eligibility criteria, benefits and the procedure for availing assistance under the respective schemes.

Officials of SANKALP-HEW Srinagar interacted with the participants and addressed their queries regarding the welfare measures available through the Social Welfare Department. The programme aimed to ensure that eligible individuals and families are made aware of government support and are able to access the benefits meant for them.

As part of the initiative, 20 beneficiaries were linked with various social security schemes, enabling them to avail the benefits of the welfare measures for which they were found eligible.

The Department reiterated its commitment to taking welfare schemes to the grassroots level and ensuring greater awareness, accessibility and effective delivery of social security benefits to deserving sections of society.
