SHOPIAN: In a significant step towards promoting voter awareness and participation, a series of Nukkad Nataks and dramas were organized today under the Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme in the Keegam Education Zone of district Shopian.

The events took place in two Higher Secondary Schools and eight High Schools within the zone. The primary objective of these activities was to inspire and motivate the voters in the respective areas to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming elections.

The performances were meticulously crafted to convey the importance of each vote in the democratic process, with themes focusing on the power of a single vote, the impact of voter apathy, and the role of youth in shaping the nation’s future.

Students from classes 7th to 12th actively participated in these events, receiving special training aimed at enabling them to effectively engage with and convince the voters in their communities about the significance of their participation in the electoral process.

The students showcased their creativity and dedication, bringing to life real-world scenarios through their performances, which were both thought provoking and impactful.

The events drew considerable attention from local residents, who gathered in large numbers to witness the performances. The enthusiasm displayed by the students was contagious, with many in the audience expressing their renewed commitment to vote in the forthcoming elections.

At the conclusion of the programme, the Headmasters and Principals of the participating schools delivered inspiring speeches, emphasizing the critical role that young people can play in fostering a vibrant democracy.

They urged the students to take the message of electoral participation to every household, thereby contributing to the success of the democratic process. The SVEEP programme in Keegam is a testament to the district's unwavering commitment to ensuring maximum voter turnout and an informed electorate in the upcoming elections.
