SAMBA: Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh today expressed concern over excessive bills to the power consumers and constant unscheduled power cuts in Bari Brahmana that has adversely impacted the normal life of the people in the district. As per a press release, a meeting was organized at ward number 13 to discuss the development and other issues related to the general masses.

During the meeting, the people expressed their concern regarding the underdevelopment, bad condition of roads, and poor basic amenities provided by the authorities. While extending his support to the people, the Former Minister said that it was unfortunate to note that the power cuts have continued even as there is no respite from the scorching heat across the plains of Jammu region.

He said that it was claimed by the JPDCL that the people would get the 24/7 electricity in metered areas, but the power supply disrupted for hours together. ā€œThe people are being put to hardship in the summer season, and on the other hand, they are charged heavily regarding the electricity bills,ā€ he stated. He further said that the JPDCL officials do not check the ground situation and send excessive electricity bills to the power consumers that has caused widespread anger among the people.

ā€œThe people are not getting adequate power supply, but they get huge electricity bills. However, the JPDCL has not responded to the claims of the power consumers to address the growing concerns of the people,ā€ he said, condemning the unscheduled power cuts. Meanwhile, he also expressed concern over the drinking water supply issue, and poor basic amenities. The meeting was also attended by the Vice President of Youth Wing of the Apni Party, J&K, Vishal Nariana, ex-corporator ward number 13, Kadgal, Shamsher Chand and others.
