• PM Modi worked for upliftment of our community: Dr Tahir

JAMMU: The BJP on Monday strongly condemned the statement of National Conference (NC) in which it said that Gujjar-Bakkerwal of Community of Jammu sells its votes for Rs 500 and is not loyal.

“The statement of NC that Gujjars an Bakkerwal Community of Jammu  sells its votes for Rs 500 is very unfortunate and an insult to this community,” BJP’s Spokesperson Dr Tahir Chowdhary said during a press conference, here today.

Tahir said ever since Prime Minister Narendra Modi took over the reigns, the Gujjar and Bakkerwal Community has progressed a lot  which is not being digested by the NC, PDP and Congress.

“The Gujjar and Bakkerwal community is nationalist community which is worrying NC, PDP and Congress,” Tahir said and added, “these parties treated our community as vote bank and also suppressed us”. Gujjar and Bakkerwal Community, he said, has always stood with the country and given sacrifices for the nation.

Modi worked a lot for the upliftment of Gujjar and Bakkerwal Community after he became the Prime Minister, Dr Tariq said and added, “Now , we have pacca houses, our community is getting high posts and people of this community are leading a dignified life”.

When NC and Cong used to rule, people of Gujjar and Bakkerwal Community were only serving as constables, he said and added, now we have IAS, IPS people from our community.
