BANDIPORA: SANKALP Hub for Women Empowerment Mission Shakti working under the supervision of Department of Social Welfare Bandipora today organised two significant camps in the remote areas of Bandipora. The awareness cum distribution camps were held in Middle School Gabpathri Dardpora and High School Kudara Sumlar as part of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative.

At the camps, team Mission Shakti distributed educational kits among underprivileged girls, emphasizing the importance of education and providing support for their academic pursuits. The District Mission Coordinator of SANKALP Hub Mission Shakti Bandipora interacted with the students, encouraged them to continue their education and informed them about various government schemes designed for their support and development.

The local school staff at both locations expressed their gratitude and praised the efforts made by the Social Welfare Department to reach these far-flung areas, ensuring that even the most marginalized communities receive necessary educational resources. These camps are meant to ensure the department's commitment for empowering young girls through education and awareness, providing them the tools and knowledge to secure a better future, said Coordinator Mission Shakti.

We at JK Monitor are profoundly saddened by the sudden demise of our Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan.IN LOVING MEMORY Dr Priya Ranjan

A brilliant mind who studied at Netarhat Residential School and graduated in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur before earning his PhD from the University of Maryland, Dr. Ranjan chose to return to India and dedicate his life to teaching, research and social good.

His pioneering work in networked systems, AI, robotics and biomedical applications—especially computer-vision tools for early detection of cancer and heart disease—reflected his deep belief that advanced technology must serve humanity.

For more than 15 years at JK Monitor, he remained a loyal friend, mentor and collaborator, marked by rare humility, intellectual integrity and quiet generosity. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. Priya, you will be deeply missed. Your life continues to remind us that knowledge finds its highest purpose in the service of others.
