SHOPIAN: The District Employment and Counselling Centre (DECC) Shopian, in collaboration with the Tehsil Office Keegam, organized an awareness camp today at Keegam. The camp aimed to educate the youth about the numerous opportunities and support available through the Mission Youth schemes. Assistant Director, Employment, Shopian, Hafsa Qayoom, inaugurated the programme with a comprehensive briefing on the Mission Youth schemes.

She urged the youth to adopt innovative ideas and assured them of the department’s readiness to provide financial and other necessary support for the establishment of their ventures. Hafsa Qayoom emphasized the importance of seizing the benefits offered by the government under these schemes. To facilitate the process, a registration desk was set up by DECC Shopian, assisting interested youth in filling out the necessary forms to avail financial assistance.

Tehsildar Keegam,Fareed Ahmad also addressed the gathering, encouraging the youth to enroll in government-run self-employment schemes. He assured the attendees that such awareness camps would be conducted regularly in the tehsil and urged the unemployed youth to actively participate in these camps to maximize their benefits. The event was a significant step towards empowering the youth of Shopian by providing them with the knowledge and resources needed to pursue self-employment and innovative ventures.
