BANDIPORA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shakeel-ul Rehman today visited Matipora Ajas and inaugurated an augmented Water Supply Scheme. Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Umar Shafi Pandith; ACR, Shabir Ahmad Wani; Ex. Engineer PHE, and officials of Jal Shakti Department were present on the occasion.

During the visit, the DC inaugurated the Matipora Water Supply Scheme, a crucial project executed under NABARD with a cost of Rs 446.00 lakhs. This scheme will provide clean drinking water to 8913 souls across various villages, including Chimpazpora, New Colony, Potu Mohalla, and other critical public establishments.

On the occasion, the DC urged Jal Shakti Department to ensure regular checks and tests for ensuring clean drinking water supply to the inhabitants of the area. The residents of the area expressed gratitude to the district administration for fulfilling their long pending demand.

Dr. Ranjan was a rare and noble soul—humble, compassionate, intellectually brilliant and always willing to help others. A visionary thinker, he believed in using knowledge and abilities to make a meaningful difference. His influence lives on through the people he guided, the work he inspired and the countless lives he touched.

For me, he will always be the elder brother who believed in me and guided me with affection. I will cherish his kindness and lessons forever. May his soul rest in eternal peace. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

A brilliant mind who studied at Netarhat Residential School and graduated in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur before earning his PhD from the University of Maryland, Dr. Ranjan chose to return to India and dedicate his life to teaching, research and social good.

His pioneering work in networked systems, AI, robotics and biomedical applications—especially computer-vision tools for early detection of cancer and heart disease—reflected his deep belief that advanced technology must serve humanity.

For more than 15 years at JK Monitor, he remained a loyal friend, mentor and collaborator, marked by rare humility, intellectual integrity and quiet generosity. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. Priya, you will be deeply missed. Your life continues to remind us that knowledge finds its highest purpose in the service of others.
