RAMBAN: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, and Labour Commissioner J&K, Departments of Labour and FCS&CA conducted joint camps at various places in district Ramban to make e-Shram workers aware about their rights and identifying those e-Shram workers who do not have ration cards. Today the camps were held at Panchayat Chareel, Panchayat Nowgam of Block Banihal, BDO office Gandhri, and in Block Ukhral.

Officials of the Labour Department along with concerned TSOs and storekeepers of the Food Department have attended camps and 31 e-Shram registrants have been identified in these camps who already have ration cards. Initially there were 1816 numbers of e-Shram registrants in district Ramban who had been found without ration cards as per data on e-Shram portal.

The ALC  urged all those e-Shram registrants to visit the office of concerned TSO, or AD, FCS&CA  or  ALC office Ramban or may call at the given contact number in the district website, with regard to the issuance of ration card. The list of these 1816 has also been shared on the official website of the District Administration Ramban.

We at JK Monitor are profoundly saddened by the sudden demise of our Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan.IN LOVING MEMORY Dr Priya Ranjan

A brilliant mind who studied at Netarhat Residential School and graduated in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur before earning his PhD from the University of Maryland, Dr. Ranjan chose to return to India and dedicate his life to teaching, research and social good.

His pioneering work in networked systems, AI, robotics and biomedical applications—especially computer-vision tools for early detection of cancer and heart disease—reflected his deep belief that advanced technology must serve humanity.

For more than 15 years at JK Monitor, he remained a loyal friend, mentor and collaborator, marked by rare humility, intellectual integrity and quiet generosity. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. Priya, you will be deeply missed. Your life continues to remind us that knowledge finds its highest purpose in the service of others.
