  • Addresses public meetingat Dhanu, Block Mathwar

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Joint Secretary, Central Zone, M. K. Rana, today criticised the BJP MLA of Nagrota Constituency, alleging that the constituency has been neglected and that several promises made during the election have not been fulfilled.

Addressing a public meeting at Dhanu in Block Mathwar, Rana said that the local BJP MLA has remained largely absent from the ground, while people across Nagrota Constituency continue to face various problems related to development and basic amenities.

Rana said that several panchayats were affected by heavy monsoon rains during July and August 2026, but the MLA was not visible on the ground during the critical period. He expressed concern over the difficulties faced by residents and alleged that timely attention was not provided to the affected areas.

Rana highlighted various development initiatives of the Omar Abdullah-led government, particularly in sectors such as roads, hospitals, schools and colleges. He said that efforts are also being made to improve electricity and water supply and provide better basic facilities to the people.

During the meeting, local residents of Panchayat Dhanu raised several issues concerning development, infrastructure and the need for crates in the area. Rana assured the residents that their genuine demands and problems would be taken up with the concerned minister.
