JAMMU: Memorizing those, who lost their lives during the devastation of partition of India on the frightful day of 14th August 1947, J&K BJP remembered the tales of adversities and losses of all sufferers with tearful eyes at the party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

Vikram Randhawa, BJP Vice-President Aseem Gupta, District Presidents Parmod Kapahi, & Rekha Mahajan. The programme was organized by Prof. Kulbhushan Mohtra, Incharge of the BJP Library Department.

Ashok Koul, while addressing on the occasion, said that on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the party has decided to remember all those silent sufferers, who bore the burnt of this massive tragedy. He said that history never dies and we have to learn from the mistakes our predecessors made in the past. He said that the glory of Independence came with a heavy price of this partition. He said that Jammu stands witness to this tragedy as many of the colonies/basties in Jammu are inhabited by the sufferers of this tragedy. He said that after the revolution of 1857, the British made a devilish plan of ‘divide and rule’ and hence made a dark policy to divide India in 1947. He also warned all of the situation in all the SAARC nations and asked to support the BJP in strengthening the nation and the Indian society.

Ghulam Ali Khatana said that due to the self-love of certain politicians of those times, innocent people suffered horribly. He said that some forces are uncomfortable to see the progress of the nation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is dedicated to making this nation one of most powerful among the world powers and the fastest growing economy of the world.

Sat Sharma, on the occasion, said that this exhibition presents a small representation of the horrors of this partition. He said that uncountable people lost their lives and lost their all belongings including their lands and had to flee from their homelands to safer places. He said that the same divisive forces also exist today, posing a threat to our society and peace in the nation and prompted all to remember our history to avoid such adversities in future.

Prof Kulbhushan while conducting the proceedings of the programme said that partition left deep wounds on the hearts of those who witnessed the horrors of partition. Rekha Mahajan also read a poem remembering the horrors of the Vibhajan Vibhishika.

BJYM organized “Vibhajan Vibhishika Samriti Diwas” at Ramban led by former Dy CM Kavinder Gupta, BJYM President Arun Prabhat, District President Rajeshwar Kumar, Gurdeep Chib, Sham Singh Katoch, Ramesh Sharma, Rakesh Thakur, Abhishek Slathia and others.
