  • Prominent youth leader Rohit Gill with many supports joins Apni Party

VIJAYPUR: Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh has geared – up political activities in Samba District with a series of public meetings. “We are holding regular public meetings at various places across the district to educate people about the policy and programs of the Apni Party that would come into force, if the Party forms the next Govt in Jammu and Kashmir,” said S. Manjit Singh.

The Former Minister chaired a meeting at Vijaypur in which people from various localities in the town participated and informed about their expectation from the Apni Party. On this occasion, a joining took place in which a prominent youth leader, Rohit Gill joined Apni Party along with many  supporters in presence of S. Manjit Singh.

Manjit Singh welcomed them into the party fold and hoped that their joining would strengthen the party at the grass root level. Meanwhile, addressing the gathering, the Former Minister said that the people were in distress and there was a feeling of alienation among the people because the administration was not responding to them nor the issues of public concerns were addressed.

“The administration has created an atmosphere where what the public says has no value and it violates the basic democratic values of the country. Therefore, the elections in Jammu and Kashmir were important to elect a Govt of the choice of the people,” he added. He said that the people have lost their faith in the traditional parties including BJP for their hollow slogans and divisive politics that has created an atmosphere of misunderstanding in the society for one reason or the other.

He said that “For last 70 years, the traditional parties exploited the people on regional or religious basis and returned to power from time to time, but they hardly ensured equitable development, employment, and protection of resources of the people in their respective areas.” He advocated that Jammu and Kashmir should have a sustainable development with a balance to protect its forests, ecology and wildlife which is facing a major threat from urbanization.

He also assured the people that if the Party comes to power, they will ensure that the people get employment opportunities at the village level and opportunities for the upliftment of their livelihood, health care and education system. Meanwhile, he also elaborated the party’s agenda of development, and other welfare schemes that would be implemented in case the party forms the Govt in Jammu and Kashmir following the recently announced assembly elections.
