SRINAGAR: Shri Surinder Bhagat, senior BJP Leader and Prabhari SC Morcha Chandigarh called on Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, today and briefed him on the upcoming commemorative event ‘Balidan Diwas’ to be organised by Shaheed Bhagat Amar Nath and Jagan Nath Charitable Trust. He was accompanied by Shri Sanjeev Manmotra, Convener, North Zone, Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch.

A delegation led by BJP District President, Kulgam Shri Farooq Ahmed Rather also called on the Lieutenant Governor and discussed several important public issues of District Kulgam including the upgradation and strengthening of Ashmuji Hospital, installation of street solar lights in various areas and development of bus stand. Shri Sriram Charana Aravinda Dasa, Director Projects, International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) called on Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, today.

Dr Sajjad Shafi, Member of Legislative Assembly from Uri called on Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, today and projected various important matters pertaining to welfare of Scheduled Tribe community and other developmental issues of his constituency. Shri Gulzar Ahmad Bhat, Chairman J&K Artists Association called on Lieutenant Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha today and briefed him on the upcoming fifth edition of “New Kashmir, New Hope – Jashn-e-Jammu Kashmir”, a cultural festival.

Shri Ramesh Hangloo, Convener, J&K Dashar Kumbh Committee met the Lieutenant Governor and projected various issues related to organisation of Dashar Kumbh at Shadipora. He was accompanied by Shri Bharat Raina, President and other members of the Committee. A delegation of Bar Association Magam led by its President Adv Sheikh Ishfaq Rasool also called on the Lieutenant Governor.

When he appointed me Editor-in-Chief of JK Monitor, he never treated me as an employee, but as a younger brother, offering warmth, trust, respect and invaluable guidance. I will always be grateful for his faith in me, his encouragement and the lessons he shared.

Dr. Ranjan was a rare and noble soul—humble, compassionate, intellectually brilliant and always willing to help others. A visionary thinker, he believed in using knowledge and abilities to make a meaningful difference. His influence lives on through the people he guided, the work he inspired and the countless lives he touched.

For me, he will always be the elder brother who believed in me and guided me with affection. I will cherish his kindness and lessons forever. May his soul rest in eternal peace. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

We at JK Monitor are profoundly saddened by the sudden demise of our Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan. IN LOVING MEMORY Dr Priya Ranjan

A brilliant mind who studied at Netarhat Residential School and graduated in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur before earning his PhD from the University of Maryland, Dr. Ranjan chose to return to India and dedicate his life to teaching, research and social good.

His pioneering work in networked systems, AI, robotics and biomedical applications—especially computer-vision tools for early detection of cancer and heart disease—reflected his deep belief that advanced technology must serve humanity.

For more than 15 years at JK Monitor, he remained a loyal friend, mentor and collaborator, marked by rare humility, intellectual integrity and quiet generosity. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. Priya, you will be deeply missed. Your life continues to remind us that knowledge finds its highest purpose in the service of others.
