- Emphasizes eternal Guru-Shishya tradition as true Vedic path to worship of God
KATHUA: At Ved Mandir, on the 26th day of the ongoing 78-day Yajna Anushthan based on all four Vedas, Swami Ram Swarup Ji enlightened devotees and seekers while explaining the significance of Rigveda Mantra 1/14/2.Swami Ji stated that by observing the vast and systematic creation of the universe, a human being naturally realizes that such a divine creation cannot be made by anyone other than the Supreme God.
Through this logical inference, it becomes evident that mankind should offer praise, prayers, and worship only to the One Almighty God through the eternal Vedic mantras revealed by Him. He further advised seekers to approach learned Vedic Acharyas and scholars to properly understand the true meaning of the Vedas.
Explaining the essence of the mantra, Swami Ji said that just as enlightened Vedic scholars dedicate their intellect and devotion towards the worship and glorification of the One Supreme God, sincere seekers should also continue to worship Him in the same manner.Swami Ji further explained that the sentiments expressed in Rigveda Mantra 1/14/2 are in complete harmony with Samaveda Mantra 744. He emphasized that all four Vedas are eternal, beginningless, indestructible, and directly revealed by God.
Therefore, the teachings contained in Samaveda Mantra 744 are also eternal and completely truthful. He described the Vedas as āself-evident authorityā and said that true worship of God has always been practiced through the eternal Guru-Shishya (teacher-disciple) tradition established since time immemorial.
Referring to Rigveda Mantras 10/181/1 and 10/109/1, Swami Ji explained that at the beginning of creation, by the divine power of God, the knowledge of the four Vedas manifested in the hearts of four ancient Rishis. Hence, God Himself is regarded as the first Guru of those Rishis, as mentioned in Yoga Shastra Sutra 1/26.
He further stated that a great Rishi named Brahma acquired the complete knowledge of the four Vedas by serving those Rishis and later spread Vedic wisdom throughout society by establishing the Guru-Shishya tradition. Swami Ji noted that during Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, and Dwapar Yuga, neither printed books existed nor were there worldly scholars as known today. Therefore, humanity should continue to seek refuge in the same eternal Vedic tradition initiated by Brahma to attain happiness, prosperity, and spiritual upliftment.Concluding his discourse, Swami Ji said that according to the Vedas, there is no path other than the Vedic way that leads to true happiness and realization of the Supreme Being.
