JAMMU: The Directorate of Tourism in collaboration with the District Administration Jammu organized a Heritage Walk from the historic Mubarak Mandi complex to the iconic Amar Mahal Palace. The event was flagged off by Joint Director Tourism, Aijaz Qaiser and witnessed enthusiastic participation from school children, youth and members of the local community.

The walk commenced at Mubarak Mandi and culminated at Amar Mahal, symbolizing a journey through Jammu’s rich cultural past. Speaking to the media, Aijaz Qaiser emphasized the importance of such initiatives in keeping cultural heritage alive. ā€œWhen people feel that they carry their history in their hands, the responsibility of preserving it naturally settles in their hearts.

Such walks not only enhance awareness of history and heritage among children but also instill pride in the local community about the identity of their area,ā€ he said. The Directorate of Tourism reiterated its commitment to promoting heritage awareness and fostering community participation in preserving Jammu’s cultural legacy.
