BARAMULLA: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, police in Baramulla organized a Drug Awareness Programme at Government High School Chakloo to educate students and the community about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of leading a healthy and drug-free life.

The programme witnessed active participation from members of the Drug De-Addiction Centre Baramulla, the school Principal, teaching staff, and students. During the event, resource persons sensitized the participants about the devastating social, psychological, and health consequences of substance abuse. Detailed information regarding the treatment, rehabilitation, and recovery process for drug addicts was also shared.

The speakers emphasized the importance of early intervention, community support, and collective responsibility in preventing drug abuse among youth. Students were encouraged to stay away from narcotic substances and act as ambassadors of the anti-drug campaign within their communities.

Police remains committed to strengthening public awareness and community participation in the fight against drug abuse and will continue to organize such programmes across the district under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
